Description
Rock Crab Drakes are a smaller sea dragon that are highly adaptable and can be seen populating rocky coastlines, deep sea cave or coral beds. An opportunistic feeder this drake has a highly developed sense of smell and are sometimes colloquially called “Sea Vultures” as they are typically the 1st creatures spotted at rotting sea carcasses.
Sea Drakes are typically communal, however the Rock Crab Drake is highly territorial and strictly solitary, except for mating season. Rock Crab Drakes are “seasonally monogamous”, typically mating with the same partner throughout the course of it’s lifetime. Females will lay up to a dozen eggs, that they anchor to their burrow walls. While they will fiercely protect their brood, upon hatching the small fry are completely independent.
Despite being small, and quite low on the food chain the Rock Crab Drake is a formidable opponent, while most prey animals flee the Rock Crab Drake fight. Many a predator will be left marked and scared when attempting to hunt down this little drakes.
