Description All of the identifying markings to tell what model of this car were long gone, but if my memory serves me right this is a Plymouth Fury, which is rather a nice surprise being the fan of the Stephen King Movie 'Christine' and lover of all things Dodge, Plymouth and Daimler Chrysler.

I bet this was once a regal little beauty until this final resting place.

This would not be a Fury, as most had dual headlamps. Β This is a single configuration. Β Could be a DeSoto, but that is a very rough guess.

Aww, it makes me wanna cry looking at that.

Wonderful picture, it really captures the essence and the moment quite well. It shows you time and how things really have changed. Fave!

Yes, it is indeed sad that you find so many of these once fine cars in similar conditions. In their heyday they were quite grand.

I don't know cars, or if it makes a difference. I do know that Christine had four headlights though.

Great photograph though, I love finding old junk cars like that.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but this car is a 1957 Ford Fairlane.....not a Plymouth Fury.

Well that's all right and I'm not broken up over it.

Still despite the model, the front produces at least in my opinion a staggering resemblance to a 1958 Plymouth Fury.

Unfortunately, Christine (Fury's) had twin headlights BUT I think I've found what this may have been!

A 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Victoria, or similar ->[link]

Still would've made one good looking car!

That may very well be the car in the photo above, and I agree the car in the url certainly is a beauty.

Indeed, the American classics with all the fins and chrome, wrap around windshields and massive shining grill's just make these cars so pretty to look at!
Top of the favourite's just has to be Christine!

Who knows, maybe one day we'll afford to own a classic car (Yeah, after a lottery win first!)

if you love her enough, she'll restore all by herself

its a shame to let such things happen to a beautiful car like this.

I agree, too...such a sad thing, letting this car waste away. I don't see many 50s cars, which saddens because they're my favorites..
XD Imagine, me, a 14-year-old computer nerd girl who prefers the old 50s cars to the fancy little cars of today. Their run-of-the-mill sleek body shape and overkill fancy gadgets doesn't stand up to the classics in my opinion.

that is true dear too bad there aren't as many 50s cars around here in germany than in the usa. well, bugs of course but the classic 50s from usa are the best. it is really a shame that we lost this way of design.

Yeah, I agree, it's quite a shame that it wasn't kept up. It would've been quite the looker today if it had.

Thanx for the comment, btw.

Awesome. You should look around for the "V" if it is, in fact, a fury, and keep it as a memory piece. Cool, nice pic

I checked for any such insignia on it and there wasn't any but it still looks quite resemblant of a Fury at least imo.
