I love Auroras. Iยดve only seen green and blue, so the red ones are new to me.

This was by far the strongest reds I've ever seen in my life thus far, the were times on this night when the whole sky was glowing red... was a very sureal experience. I've seen smaller amounts of red on other occassions but not nearly this strong. we mostly get the greens and blues here too but I've also seen purples, whites and yellows.
The red happens in strong solar storms

Aaaahhhhh......... The red aurora, it's beautiful. I have seen this just ones, But I have seen the aurora a fveu times. The stangest and most wonderful aurora I have ever seen, is a wonderful blue and green aurora. But when I looked down the snow was blood red. ^_^

That sounds really interesting the way you say the snow was reflecting non-visible red. I don't doubt it was there in the sky to but not visible with the naked eye. I have photographed Auroras that I didn't even know were there until I looked at the pictures.... the long exposure brought them out.
