Scarlet trotted up to her friend waiting for her by the castle gates. She had asked for him to meet up with her to talk about what she overheard at the Hearthswarming party a couple of weeks ago and thought it best that she went to him rather than the other way around.

Heya Scarlet!" He yelled towards her as soon as she was in hearing distance.

She didn't answer straight away but waited until she was close enough for a normal conversational tone.

"Hey Ripper- " she was just about to continue as he suddenly hugged her tight catching her off guard. Her face scrunched up as she tried to pull away "Dude, what are you-?"

"I'm sorry, I know you don't like hugs and all that but I'm just so grateful that you wanted to come all the way here to support me"

What in the buck is he talking about?! She thought bewildered but before she could actually ask him he spoke once again.

"Your letter made me realise that you're right. I've let this get way too out of hoof, I just need to man up and tell them."

"Ripper-" she broke loose from his grip "all I said is that I needed to talk to you"

"And that it was important yes. Well I'm no fool I know what you were hinting on. I need to tell my parents that i'm- " the word seemed to get stuck in his throat as he struggled to finish his sentence "well... you know... on the other team sort to speak"

Scarlet stared at him with a dumbfounded look. This was not at all what she had meant.
The thing that she really wanted to talk about was how he had treated Honey and probably countless other gulliable mares. Not this whole thing.
Sure they had discussed it before but this right now just felt bizarre.

"Ripper, that's not quite what I had in mind..." she answered as she let him lead her into the castle.

A concerned look crossed his face.

"It wasn't? Then what was it that was so important?"

She didn't get any opportunity to answer. As she opened her mouth another voice was heard further away in the great hall.

"Ripper darling there you are!" It was princess Cadence. Or Mi Amore Cadenza, her full name.
Close behind her was her husband prince Shining Armor.

Despite all the times Scarlet had been over she hadn't actually met the two head royals of the empire. She had only met Flurry and Pearl in passing.
Unsure of what to do or how to act she quickly kneeled down and greeted them.

"Your highnesses...es!" she sputtered out.

Ripper pulled her back up on her hooves discretly. As his mother only laughed.

"come now there is no need for such formalities. A friend of Riposte is a friend of the family" Cadence smiled. "Now what was it that you wanted to tell us darling" Her gaze fixed at Ripper who started stammering nervously.

"Well I eh..."

His nervousness could probably have been seen miles away Scarlet thought to herself as she observed him, however his parents didn't seem to notice a thing, or if they were they sure as heck weren't showing it.

"I..."

Wait, was he actually going to say it? He had planned to tell them right now? Really?!
Scarlet kept staring at her friend as she noticed him starting to sweat.

"I wanted you to..."

Come on Ripper you can do it! Her thoughts yelled at him.
Despite how angry she might have been on him for taking advantage of others, a big part of her still wanted him to just get out of the damned closet already. It would have put a stop to all of his bad behaviours, to just be honest to himself and others.

He took a deep breath and put a hoof around Scarlet.

"I wanted you to meet my girlfriend!" He said with a big fake grin on his face as he smushed their faces together in what could only have been the most terrifying kiss in Scarlet's life.

She was so taken a back by what he had said that she had nothing to retort with. Instead the room was filled with gleefull giggles as his mother embraced them both in a big hug and his father nodded approvingly with a huge dorky smile on his face.

"Riposte why have you not told us about this mare sooner? Welcome to the family dearie" Shining beamed.

Scarlet tried to hide her look of complete horror as her mind screamed out in panic: WHAT THE HELL RIPPER?!?!?!?!

Another story piece... plans that don't work out well.

I'm sorrt for the crappy writing I had a million stuff going on in the background that I was late to fix so I had a bit of a hard time concentrating. Might touch up on it when I get the time.

I made Cadence and Shining into oblivious dorks but that's how they've always acted towards their son in my verse. Thinking that he is an angel that can do no wrong despite all the douchy and wierd things that he does right infront of their noses.
