"Ripper, what the HELL was that?!" Scarlet shouted just as the two of them stepped outside castle.

The two of them had exited through a servant entrance near the back of the castle, leading out into what could only have been described as a alley. Not a very menacing one sure, it was hard for anything to look menacing in this sparkly mess of a city, but still a rather dark and secluded spot.

"I freezed! I drew a blank, I just couldn't tell them. I thought it would feel different with you there but then that whole thing about wanting to talk about something else just threw me off. I'm sorry for that "kiss" by the way. I swear I'll make it up to you, we just need to play a long for a little while longer until I can figure out how to tell them"

Scarlet kept staring at him with this strange look on her face. He couldn't really discern what it meant which worried him somewhat.

"C'mon, you're not mad are you?" He asked "As I said I'll make it up to you, I swear"

Still no reply. It was like she had spaced out or something. Stuck in her own thoughts.

"Scarlet?"

"I can't believe you" she mumbled through gritted teeth.

"What was that?" he asked now with some clear concern in his voice.

"This wasn't an accident was it?" Her voice had developed to a slight hiss "You planned to tell your parents that we were a couple, didn't you?!"

Ripper was silent. The tone of her voice scared him as he didn't quite know how to answer.

"You knew I was coming and saw an opportunity to fool them even further. Did you even care why I wanted to talk to you? Or better yet what I wanted to talk about?" She continued her voice escalating in force.

"I... well, I..."

Taking a deep breath to calm herself she looked him straight in the eyes and uttured.

"You what Ripper?"

He remained silent, her eyes still locked with his. This was a side he had never seen of her.

"Look me in the eyes and tell me, loud and clear, that this wasn't something you planned"

Seconds felt like hours as they stood there, both frozen, just staring at eachother. Eventually Riposte broke their eye contact and looked down at the ground.

"I'm sorry..." he peeped meekly, clearly threatened by her authorative stance.

She huffed angrily and turned her back to him, kicking the ground below her hooves.

"Damn you Ripper..." her voice was a bit shakier this time. "I thought I had you figured out. That you were just lost and confused. That you needed help... but I'm starting to think you don't actually want help. That you just get some fucking high out of doing this shit... out of tricking ponies!" She looked at him again with anger burning in her eyes. "Innocent fucking ponies!"

"w-what are you talking about?" he asked cautiously, this couldn't just have to do with what happened in the castle just now, could it? He would never have imagined her reaction being this extreme.

"I know what you did to Honeycrisp, and probably many others" she said in a matter of fact tone.

"Wait... who?" he asked confused but was suddenly surprised when a hoof collided with his face.

The cloven hoof of Scarlet had hit him like lightning instantly knocking the wind out of him and leaving him laying on the ground. The sharp edges of her rock solid hoof sliced open a small slit in his lip and nostril as it passed on it's way to his eye.
Blinking frenetically he tried to regain his sight as the blurry image of Scarlet standing over him came back into view. He winced pathetically as the pain suddenly registered.

"What the hell Scarlet?!" He sputtered.

"YOU DON'T EVEN REMEMBER HER NAME?!" Scarlet shouted back. "I can't believe I used to root for you! Are you going to forget me too after this?! Ponies aren't your tools to toy with because of your insecurities asshole! GOD what is so difficult for you, I just DON'T understand!"

He winced once more as his eyes had started to swell. He spat out blood that had run down into his mouth as he answered her.

"I just... I don't know what to do..." He huddled up a bit on the ground fearing for another punch. His eyes started to water.

She stared at him. Her frown loosening a bit but she still kept her harsh tone.

"Don't know what to do? YES YOU DO RIPPER! You bloody well know what to do, just come clean to everyone, and to yourself! Just stop USING ponies, stop using ME!"

"It's just..."

"WHY is it so difficult to just admit?! Nothing bad is going to happen! What are you afraid of? I really don't understand!"

"...."

"There are plenty of gay ponies in Equestria, it's nothing new. Your mother is the princess of love, LOVE for gods sake Ripper. She is probably the most accepting pony around. Your AUNT, Princess Twilight, IS GAY!" She paused as to make the words sink in "What is it that is so terrible about it?! Explain to me"

"BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BE!!!" He shouted.

Birds that sat on the house roof beside them flew of, startled by the loud noise. An eerie silence fell over the alley, the only sound being heard was Riposte's sobbing as he was fully crying at this point.

"what?" Scarlet asked in a much quieter tone than before.

"I wish I wasn't..." Ripper peeped "I wish I could be the perfect prince like in the stories... valiant and brave... fighting to win the damsels heart... showing of my skills..." He hid his face in his hooves. "with every mare I sleep with I'm hoping it will be different. That I will just find the right one that makes it all feel "right", so that I can be that perfect prince and win my princess. But no matter what it always feels wrong. I just want it to end, to get out of there. To shower myself in scolding hot water to wash away the... shame"

She stood silent.

"You changed that... that night we spent together was amazing. Nothing has every felt more right in my entire life... and I hate it..."

Scarlet sighed deeply and walked up to the crying stallion. She knelt down and looked him in the eye once more, pondering weither or not to give him a hug.

"Riposte" she started "I really want to help you... but you need to accept yourself first... and I can't help you with that" She stood up to turn her back on him as to show her disaproval.
"I am still angry with you. This doesn't justify any of your despicable actions towards those poor mares, nor me. But I do believe that you can change, you just have to want to" she started to walk away from him, yet kept talking back to him. "prove that you are an honorable prince by doing what is right"

"Goodbye Ripper"

He looked after her like a kicked puppy. Not getting up to go after her nor shouting for her to come back, even tough he desperatly wanted to. He just lay there, watching her disapear out of sight.

Once back in the castle he was quickly spotted by a pair of guards. Both of them alarmed by the state of which he was in.
One of the two ran to fetch the Princess that soon returned to see her baby boy's horrific black eye.

"Oh my god Riposte! Who did this to you?" She hugged him tightly yet he hung limp in her grip barely even looking at her.

"It's nothing mom, I just... fell down the castle stairs..."

Welp... sorry for the delay. It's not quite what I imagined in my head (that ending goodbye got really wierd) but hey it's close enough to what I had in mind.
