A lazy sketch I did some time ago of slightly younger versions of the sparkle kids.ΒDecided I liked it enough to color and use as shading practice.Β
Love Letter was a tiny baby and was born a bit prematurely. Fortunately there was nothing wrong with her and she grew very quickly to be slightly bigger than normal foals her age.

Twilight smiled tiredly, stroking the soft hair on her foal's belly. Love Letter was tiny, hairy, and one of the cutest creatures Twilight had ever lay eyes on. The baby cooed and whimpered, squirming in her soft pink blanket. Twilight chuckled. Love Letter was fairly quiet, but certainly a bit restless. Maybe it was the yak in her.
Suddenly, the door to the hospital room opened. A nurse entered, smiling.
"Your highness, you've got visitors," the nurse announced. She stepped out of the way of the door.
It was Applejack, followed by Twilight's older children: Inkwell, who stomped in with a sour look on his face; and Marigold, who skipped behind Applejack with a grin that could blind the sun.
"How are ya feelin', Twi?" Applejack asked with a smile as she let he kids into the room. Twilight smiled, sighing.
"I'm tired. Sore. Never want to give birth again. How have the kids been? Not to much trouble?" Applejack had been watching the two foals while Twilight was in the hospital, and this was the first time she had seen the kids since she went into labor. Applejack chuckled.
"Naw," Applejack replied, "they've been great. Do you feed them, though? They ate two whole apple pies off of the counter like it was the first food they've seen in weeks!" Twilight laughed at the thought. She then looked at her children.
"Inky, Marigold," Twilight whispered softly, "would you like to see your new baby sister?" Marigold's eyes seemed to sparkle as she went to the edge of the hospital bed, trying to looked over the pink blanket at her new sibling. Inkwell wasn't impressed.
"Who needs to see another stupid baby?" He muttered to himself. Applejack was the only one who heard the colt.
"Now Inkwell, go on an' look at yer lil' sister." The giant mare less-than-gently nudged Inkwell towards the bed, so he reluctantly trodded over, no less sour.
Twilight gently unwrapped Love Letter from the blanket, giving the tiny yak-pony a kiss on the forehead. She then carefully gave Marigold the baby.
Marigold sat on the floor, staring at Love Letter in tender awe. Never had she seen something so tiny, so fragile, so... CUTE! She contained her squeal of utter joy, pulling Love Letter a bit closer.
"Mom... She's so tiny..." She whispered, clearly afraid to wake the foal, "and fluffy..."
"She's fat," Inkwell muttered, rolling his eyes, ignoring the probable fact that it was merely the amount of fur. He didn't want another sister. He didn't even like Marigold. This weird half-pony didn't change his feelings.
Twilight didn't hear her son. She stared proudly at her three children, siblings who she hoped would learn to be close as peas in a pod and would love each other.

I really wanna seeΒ Inkwell go though a type of christmas carol story when that time of year comes around. The thought just came to me the other day that he would be the perfect kind of character to go through a story like that. It would also be nice to see him running around ponyville with a massive smile on his face and finally excepting his sisters and loved ones, maybe even go visit his father he wants nothing to do with at this point.

That's something that I would like to see myself as Inkwell is the type who would go through a similar event like Scrooge from A Christmas Carol.

What I'm wondering is how painful it was to give birth to Flurry Heart, when she was first shown in the series she couldn't have been more than a couple weeks old and at would mean her horn and wings would be cramped coming out.

i was born 1 month too soon and i'm good, in fact it would have been worse if they waited 9 month (too big + i was badly positionned so it kinda fucked up my feet but they fixed that all up and i'm thankful to be able to walk and run ^^)

heheh thanks, appearently that ain't that rare, i already met two people in my case, one had it worse and the other better (the one who had it worse is fine, he's just a little more fragile but that's it)
