just updating my DA gallery. This piece, along with whole series, is a part of my master's degree project in graphics.This piece in particular is something I wouldn't usually post on DA. It's been directly inspired by this photo [link] - which is a part of a really great session. I don't usually draw something that's so close to my inspiration, but in this case I was in a hurry and this photo was a great influence. I did copy some parts of flowers pretty directly (or, well, tried to), but her face and the rest of it is 100% original, no ref used.
For those catching little details - yes, at some places between pieces in these series I re-used some elements. I painted a few flower sets and little details separately and, as I was really in a hurry with those, I just re-used them in different places. I didn't use any works that don't belong to me, of course. Just wanted to make it clear for all drama hunters out there

You can learn to color images in graphics class? I am majoring in fine arts because I draw but I can't color very well at all. I don't use layers very often and I never use brushes for texture. I need to learn hands on with someone right here beside me but I didn't know if any classes offer that.

thanks! Actually the problem is the series are accompanying my diploma project which is a Japanese restaurant, therefore even though I call them "asian" these pieces are still mostly influenced by Japan. And because last time I painted my variation of geisha people were complaining her obi is not 100% correct and stuff like that (even though I wrote it's been inspired by geisha and that I am familiar with kimonos, I just didn't want to paint a portrait of a geisha, just my variation of it). So I decided to go with "asian inspired" just so people will leave me alone

whoa! what a lengthy explanation! haha! no worries! I am looking forward to see your works on other asian countries like thailand, mongolia, india, vietnam, malaysia, kyrgyzstan, etc. I'm sure it will be just as intricate and mind-bogglingly beautiful! How I wish I had your skills so I could make art for the Philippines just like yours. If you don't mind, I'll ask you for some tips every now and then..
