I like the addition of the knee pads. For a moment there I was thinking of the alternative future with her missing a wing.
I think the biggest fault of that episode was communication. They didn't informed her of all the rules of being in the military, and she never spoke up about how being called "crash" hurt her.
But in the end it was a situation that brought her ego down yet another peg, and she is now ok with the nickname (moving past the bullying).
Still, to cheer me up I just watch the "prologue".
