I really like this image, even though it's technically not canon. Β Despite working with them, Mandalorians are very much against the idea of force users, so a Mandalorian Jedi or Sith probably would never happen...granted, a 'Sith' alien Mandalorian probably would be a reality, but beyond that...

Still, I really like this a lot. Β One of the Fetts as a Sith would be an amazing concept.

Not true. Have you ever heard of the Mandalorian Knights?

They are the Mandalorian Warriors who have Force Abilities. The Mandalorians are not AGAINST Force Users, but they ARE against the idea of being either 100% Pro-Sith/Sith/Dark Jedi and/or 100% Pro-Jedi/Jedi/Pro-Gray(AKA Pro-Grey)/Gray(AKA Grey).

The Mandalorian Knights are basically their Force-User Division.

The Mandalorian Knights weren't Mandalorian recruits. They were turncoat Jedi who thought they could influence Mandalorians to be nicer by proximity and by leading them. Their leader was a turncoat Jedi Councilor who fell in love with a Mandalorian.

Well technically I don't think that might be canon anymore, unless it was mentioned somewhere in the Clone Wars show when they did their bit involving the Mandalorians. Β No small thanks to Disney, most of the fun stuff in Star Wars lore got taken out of canon for the sake of the new films.

Disney's not canon. Because fuck Disney. OR; They are 2 separate universes: Lucas' Amazing Universe of Sexy Beauty, and then that one sack of shit no one wants to touch.

Sorry, did you just call Lucas's universe amazing and full of sexy beauty? Β I'm sorry, your argument fell short there. Β George Lucas had nothing to do with the Extended Universe, which was more than 75% of the reasons why Star Wars managed to thrive well after the first three films. Β As far as Lucas was concerned, they were just cash to him, and simply indicating which he liked best was all the help he had in them. Β The extended universe was made by the fans, for the fans, and Lucas had no part in it. Β The only part he did have in it was his betrayal when he sold it to Disney and gave them the go ahead because, justifiably so, Disney didn't want to screw things over by ruining fans expectations, so it was far easier for them to make them into an alternate universe than it was to make a film based on one of the many countless books, video games, comics, and other memorabilia that we have made.

Actually, Lucas had his hands all over the EU. He worked closely with the EU team on the Clone Wars EU stuff before he made the show, and he kept a constant hand on the post-ROTJ EU. To the point where he even cancelled or changed their projects based on his decisions. The main reason for Joruus C'Baoth, for example, is because Lucas didn't want an evil Kenobi clone advising and helping Thrawn. And as far as the Clone Wars show goes, Lucas did correct some of the more......questionable aspects of the EU, and helped it be more presentable, even though he didn't let Grievous achieve Super Saiyan levels of strength like in the Tartakovsky cartoon.

Well, while I see your point about who ACTUALLY MADE the EU. And Disney.

But George Lucas made Star Wars, so stfu about that little hashtag you made, smartarse.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

Kerian-halcyon In reply to Xenoman117 [2015-08-30 06:06:03 +0000 UTC]

Lucas also made Strange Magic, Indiana Jones IV, and the three Star Wars Prequels. Β He was also an arrogant loser who stole ideas and followed an existing trend in order to make it cool, without actually knowing what the hell he was talking about (e.g. Parsec is a unit of distance, not time, and the EU's way of explaining it was a way to cover Lucas's ass). Β He took advantage of a lot of money in order to make immense special effects and is, essentially, the driving force behind the modern media evil that is special effects over acting and story.

So you stfu for continuing to support him rather than joining my hashtag, whiney little bugger.

You missed my point.

He MADE Star Wars. If he didn't start his company, or added all his "stupid shit" to it, it wouldn't have existed because he'd never have wanted or tried to finish it. So you stfu, numbskull.

It is clear, Kerian, that you do not understand what the Kessel Run was or how it worked.Β
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kessel…
"The time to perform the run proved too difficult to arbitrate (due to the highly relativistic distances involved) but a fierce competition developed nonetheless, for the pilot and ship able to make the run while covering the shortest overall distance demonstrating the most adept maneuverability and pilotage."

It had nothing to do with time. It was all about distance.

That paragraph and wiki article is just a fancy way of saying "Author handwave." It's a common tactic authors use to try and justify rule of cool or inconsistencies with real-world physics by simply pointing out that it applies differently to their universe. Β It's also a sign of laziness when the author comes to rely on it too much. Β Which is exactly what George Lucas does. Β Constantly. Β Handy having an EU that's willing to patch your mistakes for you isn't it?

Despite all those arguing, awesome draw

And a lot of people forgot about KOTOR game and the mandalorian who became a Sith Lord.
But indeed, a truly force sensitive proudly mandalorian wouldn't consider itself a Jedi nor a Sith, so he wouldn't try to be as powerful as those, in the force, but he would move more in the gray area using the force for his own purposes, hunting.

While the Mandalorian Knights were originally jedi, and only joined the Mandos later, your point still stand, Jorn.Β  Just because we don't have many examples of force-sensitive mandos, doesn't mean there aren't any. And besides, with a culture like the Mandalorians... one where you constantly are getting new members from various species... yeah. There HAS to be a few force sensitives somewhere in that group.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Halcriios In reply to Nethgar [2014-04-06 20:17:21 +0000 UTC]

Mandos haven't been one species ever sense they lost the war on Coruscant( the Taung, a gray skinned humanoid if my memory is right)Β  so with how manalorian is a culture and not a race they cant help but have Force sensitives, they just dont have a way to know that they are.
