WOOHOO! Okay, so it didn't take as long as I thought it would. All those wrinkles were hell to draw after working on graduation thank-you notes all day. -_-Here we have the lineart of my current project from Howl's Moving Castle, the latest (and in my opinion, most wonderful) Miyazaki film. It's taken the place of Lord of the Rings in my "can watch over and over without ever getting sick of it" category. A pretty prodigious achievement, I think.
Anyway, yesh, this is Howl, Sophie, and Markl relaxing after a picnic on their castle courtyard. I took a bit of liberty with Sophie and made her more of my book-vision, but Howl's pretty much movie-canon Howl, because he's so darn cute. <3 Markl's also somewhat inspired by my little brother here.
I wasn't going to attempt the Witch of the Waste, I would have failed miserably drawing her. =b

I really love Howl's Moving Castle, and I'm surprised that other people know that it was actual literature before the anime.

Thank you so much! Yes, I absolutely LOVE the novel. Although, Howl's a bit less of a jerk in the movie than he was in the book, so I prefer watching the film to fuel my own Howl-filled-fantasies. xD

Aww! I love Howl's Moving Castle as a book, the movie didn't interest me as much, except for the fact that it was a Miyazaki animation. I love your rendition of Sophie! Can't wait for the colored version!

Oh, trust me, it might be the fact that I'm so used to drawing the KH gang's gigantic shoes...that now I think NORMAL feet are super-tiny and draw them as such. =b
