Just a one-hour quick sketch. I had to do a self-portrait for my figure drawing class. Went off a photo from last week when I had my hair straightened.
There's imperfections, I know, it was a quickie job. xDD

Nyaww, thank you, dearie! And I wish my hair was this sexy...I probably gave it a couple liberties since I'm so used to drawing animu hair. >_>;; General shape is right, though...I think. Maybe.
AUGH I HATE NOSES TOO! I was happy with this one too, I'm so glad you like it. It doesn't help that my nose is broken/slightly crooked, it looks like I'm like DURR DURR, I DUNNO HOW TO DRAW A STRAIGHT NOSE, but no, I'm drawing it like it is. xD

That's a really lovely self-portrait! It's the mark of a really good artist that you drew yourself so simply but still made everything so clear and well-formed.

The only thing I would have to mention is that (though I didn't see the picture) your chin isn't quite that pointy. But that's it. Honest. Which is friggen great. ^o^

I envy your ability to do decent realism too, lol XD the shading you did here is really cool, I love the way you pencilled in the eyes.. <3 something about them has a certain depth, I just love the way you draw eyes >w< nice and dark around the edges. 
AND THE LIPS D8 AGHHH the lips are such a hard part for me to shade when it comes to realism, but you did awesomely here~ I like the little shine you added <3 nice touch! X3
and this is totally random but XDD YAY HAIR-STRAIGHTENING BUDDIES 8D -highfive- lol I'm getting mine permanently done next week <3 'cause it's been like six months since I last did and the roots are all curly again XD okay that was totally random, sorry lol.

Thank you so much! It's taken YEARS of practice to be able to draw faces, in realism, decently. Ultimately, I learned I can't work with lines...I just have to shade. That ultimately makes everything more organic and realistic. LIPS WERE ALWAYS AN ISSUE FOR ME....until I started taking that approach. xD
Yeah...I'd get the permanent straightening if I didn't like being able to wear my hair curly when I feel like it. xD I just iron it every so often.

zOMG, I have a broken nose too! I felt so weird drawing it, but it's an unfortunate reality. x_x I also have a crooked jaw, since my jaw surgery wasn't exactly of cosmetic nature, but I thought the teacher would think I was just fail at drawing if I drew myself with a giant crooked chin--because it's not noticeable in person, it's usually only visible in static pictures.
Ugh. I hate drawing these things. xD
