Now lookie here it seems that while the two empires were busy fighting... a rouge challenger approaches them.
Aka the pegasi! A wannabe pegasi federation descended from the slope of they're mountains and make a name for themselves! However the two big nations are too busy fighting each other to pay attention this supposed disturbance.(lol they both literally send them a minor army to drive them off)
Hurt and absolutely pissed the pegasi federation decided to take this opportunity and to BULK THE FUCK UP. They trained, they advanced their technology and learn to organize exceptionally well.
And with one fell swoop THEY TOOK OVER THE GRIFFON EMPIRE!

Bonus: it kind of cut off but they also built they're own new pegasi capital whose cloud infrastructure still stands today
Bonus: If I were to give the pegasi federation real life counterparts I would argue that their are like the Mongols Empire in that they seemed to appear out of nowhere with an incredibly organized and brutal army never before seen.
