Description I've had the idea of drawing Raz inside Lili's mind for some time, until I remembered about the Censors and the Personal Demons. Well, I'm sure they'll be able to deal with it. They've dealt with far worse stuff before.
I imagine Lili's mind to be a huge garden, considering her love for plants and flowers. It would have a dark side as well.

I wonder how her dark side would be like.

Like shinyhappygoth said, it's probably on the top, like ceiling, full of thorns and thistles. This garden is hidden. And Raz got there.

Thabks! I love how the roses turned out too.

Eh? What does that mean?

I was just talking about a romantic scene, spoiled by people around who are jealous.
When you are the one who is bothered by those jealous people, it's embarassing

They're not jealous, the censors are just trying to protect her. The demons are just evil though.

This is really cite, and weird too... but i love the background, especially the pink sky. (Censors always remind me of that one THOH ep in the Simpsons... )

This si really awesome. Sometimes I envy your talent, really I do.

Thanks! I really enjoyed drawing it.
Aw, don't say that, you're very talented as well.
The censors are the main enemies in the game (not unlike the goombas or koopas in the Mario series), and are generally easy to beat (except the "strongman" ones). The Personal Demons are more annoying.

No problem.
Thank you a lot.

Ah, I see. Goobas are something I know (for once. I am not that much tinto videogames anymore.) And what do the demons do, then?

Violeta960 In reply to Jamcub [2010-04-07 23:07:11 +0000 UTC]

They explode and take away damage. And make ugly crying noises. The censors are at least somewhat funny: they're always repeating "no no no no".
Why not? Too busy at animation school?

Ugly crying noises? I imagine them sounding like babies, then...
Hehe, sounds fun.

I don't have it, still... And I cannot afford it anyway, I am short on money.

I see. Then again, if you can't play it, you can watch the cutscenes on Youtube.

Already said this in a reply to someone else's comment, but: since Lili hides her softer side behind sass-mouth and prickliness, I suspect her mental garden is surrounded by a spike-topped wall or a thorn hedge. She wouldn't have any major beasties running around in there, beyond the usual assortment of Censors, but she's pretty jaded, so there's got to be something negative, just not violently so. I'm thinking either weeds or moles.

^_^

The mental landscape would have to be shaped by her memories and experiences as well, of course, it always is, but we don't know enough about that yet, only her father's job. Anyway, that stuff might not have much effect on the inner garden. Hard to say.

What I'd like to see, if they ever make a sequel, would be Raz's mind. We never really saw it in the game--except for the caravan, everything we saw was a fusion of his and Oleander's psyches, and not an accurate representation at all. It'd be nice to see the real thing.

Violeta960 In reply to shinyhappygoth [2010-04-05 22:32:38 +0000 UTC]

Ohhh yes. A shame, really, I'd LOVE to see the how the creepy circus would have looked without all the meat and zombie bunnies. Raz himself said "My memories were bad enough", so I guess it wouldn't have been a nice place either. And what about the ending, when he makes peace with his dad? His mental landscape would have transformed, probably becoming nicer-looking.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

shinyhappygoth In reply to Violeta960 [2010-04-06 00:00:16 +0000 UTC]

Well, I doubt the circus memories are ordinarily nearly as creepy--though there was that flooded obstacle course. Raz didn't need any help from Oleander on the daddy issues. Other than that, though... hmm. Circus prison, perhaps? Not creepy per se, but confining. And, yeah, at the end I can imagine the iron bars swinging open or whatever (together with an appropriate change of lighting and the background music shifting to a major key, of course).

If Lili had a dark side, that would probably be in a room, kind like Milla's mind and her personal demon room.

On lighter note, I'm adoring Raz's face right now going "Well....damn" and Lili being blissfully ignorant.

Maybe, but most likely less sad and disturbing. That part scared me.
Thanks! I like it too. Though I don't think she's unaware of them. Considering how much she likes danger and excitement...

shinyhappygoth In reply to masterofchibiness101 [2010-04-05 08:33:01 +0000 UTC]

Nah, the whole idea with Milla is that she had her nightmares locked away, and covered it all up with the whole party-girl attitude. Lili seems pretty up-front about her negative emotions--if anything, she hides her softer side behind them. More likely, her mental garden is surrounded by a spike-topped wall or a thorn hedge or something.

And she doesn't seem to have anything worse going on than a general feeling of jadedness, so she wouldn't have any major beasties like Milla's suppressed trauma or the inmates' assorted psychoses. If anything's undermining the garden, I see it taking the form of moles.
