Gotta say Violet: 1. Congrats on reaching you're watcher milestone and I'm glad to be 1 in your 150, and 2. I'm glad you're doing tutorials like this, for I'm going to try not to rely on my current "stock" usage way of drawing things that I'm doing now.
Before now I've either used all tracing or some, but I want to try to trace less and less, and I know I need to practice, but how can you practice drawing when you don't what to practice, or even how to practice it. I need info, processes, techniques, the works. Seeing friends like you share their artistic knowledge perks me up just a little bit more, and it gets a little more willing to practice. (As you could probably tell from my gallery's past, I'm not really that strong when it comes to the confidence department nowadays, but I try to improve what confidence I get.Β ) Still this going into my archives of tutorials and studies for sure. Especially since I've heard that, and somewhat tried myself, that hands and feet articulate positions is one of the hardest things to draw (well, without guides anyway.Β ) Still, I'll be using this the go to rules for my practices and drawings for sure. You're a god-send, Violet.Β

No, thank you for sharing your way of the art. All I've been doing is roughly following and somewhat drawing the lines of others' work while editing in my own clothing designs and drawing and editing in my own heads. It has some work and my own efforts, but it doesn't have that much official skill and practice, it's no substitute for tried and true practice. Hell, I don't think I'm even truly "stock practicing." They say you don't learn a thing from tracing, but while I will say I've learned a few things from it by studying from observation, such as the basic differences of the male and female form, a little of perspectives, posing, bits of the basics. However I feel as if it's not enough, that's why I'm confessing about my way of work that I've been doing and going by up 'til now. I owning up to my lack of true skill and tried and true experience of practice, even my reason being I just wanted to draw stuff decently fast, but all I've been doing is cheating to speed it up.
No more. I'm going to try to do less cheating, and more actually trying.

I am glad you would like to change,and what you thinkimg IS true cus using bases do wont make something good or original

Also,if you want to be better at drawing (i know it tooks your times buuut..it'll improve you!) Draw something you havent draw before /something dynamic.examples drawing your character at a different position and angle
Plus if you draw more regularly,you'll make ppl interest more

I know I've got tons of bases I'll still intend to use, but I'll try to learn from them, as I did from tracing while it lasted, but I'll definitely try to go original when I can. No more leeching off the works of others by tracing or doing things that aren't given permission at all. I'm going to use legit methods such as bases while following their rules, and actually try to find my own way of art myself and embrace the way of art that I can both do and be happy with.
Before I've lived under the negative mindset that I'll never be the level of a "good artist" I'll be content with, never find a style that works for me. Then I've been trying to build my confidence with my past "methods" of tracing or using stock practice, under the false pretenses that I've been improving my skills and having a way of art, but I made the mistake of trying to pass it off as true art when in reality, all I've been doing is "recreating" what's already been made while adding my own twists and ideas, that's gotten me where I am now, and I'm grateful for it. However if I want to truly go further while keeping the positive view of the small following I've gained now, I must step up my TRUE artistic abilities, and my overall game. My current ways will only hold me back and will drive those who like what I want to do away. Sure it's gained me the friends and fans I have now, but now I must face the music and become the artist you all believe I am. You guys like my characters and the characters I like, and the stories I've been telling with them despite my methods. Out of what I've done wrong, I must've done somethin' right. Alright, time to live up to you guys as I wanna live up to me.
I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna practice. I'm gonna be... A TRUE ARTIST!
