Description The last night of Discworld. Death makes his final journey.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I used to take art classes with...well, I suppose the term would "family friend." She had two daughters and I and my sister had been friends with them for almost as long as I could remember. Our moms were, if possible, even better friends. They'd talk for hours after we'd finished washing up after class. One day, she told my mom about a book called The Wee Free Men.
"You have to get the girls this book," she told my mom.
That was more than twelve years and well over forty books ago. I loved The Wee Free Men. Tiffany Aching was everything I'd never known I wanted in a heroine: a no-nonsense hag, armed with a frying pan. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She was smart and unmagical - a refreshing change from the violet-eyed fairy-Sues that swamped the fantasy genre. I never laughed so hard as I did reading that book.
Later came The Amazing Maurice, Johnny and the Dead, Truckers, Diggers, and all the rest. In high school, I found Monstrous Regiment tucked away on a shelf in the library and with it began my love of satire. It was his books that lead me to Douglas Adams and Kurt Vonnegut.
I always wanted to write to Terry Pratchett, to thank him for everything. I never did.
