Maya & Aztec are not the same. Don't get confused.
It's like... let's say like mistake Greeks for Romans. (In that case, Mayas would be the Greeks, and Aztecs would be the Romans).
...and the Sun Stone is Aztec, not Mayan. Similar Calendar, but different culture.
(Just an explanation, I'm actually NOT a sceptic about 2012, just obsesive compulsive with details sometimes)

Thank you for clearing up my confusion. (My Americas history is very hazy, being a European. I have been through the Panama Canal but not visited anywhere north or south.)

Have just said goodbye to some friends who popped round, and we were discussing when we had to use pay phones as students. Such huge technological strides - now my daughter can contact me from uni by skype, email, text, whatever... And I can chat away to friends the other side of the world. Fabulous communication, you're right.
Even more amazing then that the Azteks could work out 5000 years ago when the world would end....

Aot of people read it as the end, but may just be a cycle, reversal of the poles, solar avtivity, next alien shuttle craft to Alpha Centuri, who knows.
