I can dig it. To me it expresses the way communism reduces a whole nation to nothing more than blank grey people whose opinions or thoughts are equal to nill. And also, the faceless man reminds me of Nicolae Ceausescu, the former Romanian dictator, and his speeches, all beggining with "Dear friends and comrades". Dear my ass. He didn't give a shit. Nobody up there does. That's why we need to rebel more.

but it's true ... culture- that is bassed on masses , individuality seems to be lost and everybody is acting, dressing - and speaking -duh- same ... and it turns into a obedient faceless mass.

The thought is universalty ... a face makes it always personal which provokes symphaty or the oposite ... like those screaming ads.
Be leave it blank anyone can pretend the face in it of his of her desire to the subject (and even that is subjective).
So ... the audience makes it personal. - not me/ or the artist.

I think that some times society decides what we look like and for there not to be a face, to me, means that we as a people have to find our own faces if that makes sense.
