(sorry for the handwriting! OnO hopefully it's legible, if not I'll write it out in text instead haha)Just a species I'd been thinking of for a while uwu
They're basically just enchanted forest spirit deer but idk I'm still pleased with it! I may do the fae that go with them with some other species if I have time, but regardless I was thinking of doing some more variants and putting them up for adopting if anyone is interested O: just need some dosh for another year of premium heh
Also, trying out a more realistic colouring style bc it was some feedback I got when presenting a portfolio at a training session thingie idk. I've done better attempts recently, but as they're for uni I can't post them here :')

This is the first of your pieces that I ever saw. And it looks MAGNIFICENT!
I am attempting to create creatures of my own, but they are more oriented to science fiction, with some fantasy elements thrown in. Any chance you could give me some hints on how to create something as elegant as this?

For elegant creatures I can't say I really have a lot of tips sorry! I guess the main things I include are:
- long spindly limbs,
- horns or long ears and the like on the head in arching kind of shapes,
- long tails often look nice, especially with tufts of fur on the end,
- Try to keep it simple!
Basically, flowing designs with good colour palettes will give an elegant look, especially if you pick a theme for them
If it's scifi then I guess you should focus on the environment it's in and how it differs to the earth. The absolute main thing though is thinking about how it would live in the environment it's in, which admittedly I didn't do too much of with this hah, but basically I find it helpful to look at what real world animals are in an environment and base them off that, so obviously this one is based heavily off a deer.

Last I remember, I was stuck trying to complete the last stretch of Pirate Island (I think that's what it was called. Definitely was pirate-themed). Freaking Warships killed me WAY to many times to be called fair.
