A factoid for you guys and gals, this logo was based on the Atari logo since they had the rights to design and market a Last Starfighter arcade game based on the one seen in the film

Great movie, great insignia ... if only they would do the 'Star Wars Special Edition' type revamp of the CGI ... otherwise everything in that movie would still hold up well.
