is the eye on the left a little soft?
oh and digital cameras are notorious for producung the flatest image possible. I have a 20d as well and bumping the contrast is a must on everything.

Yes, All photos go through touchups before I use them for anything...
the 80MM is a pretty wierd focal length huh. I have a Cnon 28080mm L lens and it the tele end of that.
