No matter how funny and optimistic the episodes are I'm always left with feeling sad for the Doctor. You just want to give him a hug. I'm not even yet into the Matt Smith era (because I can't bring myself to watch the last episodes of my beloved David) but the sympathy for him and his lonely is still the same. In the end the Doctor will always be alone ...

;_; Breaks my heart, because Matt is my Doctor. He plays up the youthful energy and insanity of the Doctor well, but he's incredible when it comes to those moments of age, of introspection, when you see how old the Doctor truly is.
