I particularly love when a store puts Rootstein mannequins out with hair and faces done, like here. There's something special about them.

I totally agree with you but you don't see many of them.It is very hard to even get any shots of mannequins anymore the stores really forbid it.

The stores I shoot at usually don't have a problem with people taking photographs--maybe because they're in a part of Manhattan that gets a lot of visitors taking photos of everything--though sometimes the security at stores where you can see the stores' insides easily through the window displays give me a look.

Mostly Fifth Avenue going south from about 58th Street (Bergdorf Goodman) and stopping at 49th Street (Saks Fifth Avenue, the source of these photos). Some of the other places along Fifth Avenue I've shot windows at, depending on my interest in the display, are Louis Vuitton, Prada, Henri Bendel, Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo, St. John, Escada, Versace.... I also shoot Dior and Chanel windows at 57th Street between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue. I can walk by to check out all these places in one trip.

Sometimes I check out Ralph Lauren Rugby at 12th Street and University Place, Lord & Taylor on Fifth Avenue in the 30s, and Zara and Bloomindale's on Lexington Avenue around 58th Street.

I've never had anyone tell me not to take pictures, and sometimes other people stop to take their own photos, especially at Bergdorf.

Thank you for telling me...I wanted to ask have you been to Agent Provocateur on Madison Ave & 59th st I would like to get out there and take some shots of their windows.I know there was one in Soho but the woman int he store there was a real witch and didn't allow anyone to snap photos of them beautiful mannequins in the store.I know that some stores don't even want you to take any photos of their windows either.I am going to check out the areas where you go I haven't checked those areas your speaking of.

I've actually never been to Agent Provocateur because I don't spend any time on Madison Avenue. Maybe I should check it out.

I don't take photos of mannequins inside the store unless they're visible through the windows while I stand on the sidewalk.

Fifth Avenue is excellent. The sights: lots of clothing store windows, jewelry in store windows to oooh over, St Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, a very swank looking Sephora, and De Picciotto has cute fun purses and jewelry in the window.

Down 5th Avenue from about 58th Street down to about 49th Street. There are places to see on either side of the street.
