His hair was only brown in the concept art though. And concept art is the worst thing to use for reference.

It was brown in every single scene in CoM though. If they'd wanted him to have pink hair, they should have given him pink hair. It's not that hard to draw...

no, not really. Full brightness on a GBA sp it is pink. all ripped sprites it turns up as pink.
The concept art was more maroon.
