oh it was easy to recognize... you captured it really well.
Have you been painting this en pleinair or from photoreference?
However... you asked me I am holding up in Switzerland...
Well,... it's working ok for me as I am an architect working from a home atelier anyway... so not too much difference compared to a non pandemic situation.
However, I have my daughter here because of the homeschooling aspect... but this is great... she was just accepted at a great artschool after a tough selection... so she is full of motivation and we have a lot to share in art related issues and others for sure.
Here is her DA account if you wanna have a look at her work

How is it going in Scotland?
cheers

I took some nice photos when we were in Wales last year. I think the figure might be my boy, but I'm not sure.

Well done, your daughter! She paints and draws with great precision. I particularly liked the stack of sweaters. It's so lovely to have a child to share a hobby with; my daughter and I are the same. We also both do sewing.

How is it going in Scotland? Marginally better than in rUK, but that's not much comfort. Downing Street have mishandled this crisis in every way imaginable; the botch-up is second only to USA's. The numbers of cases and deaths you may hear on the news are vastly too low, because they are still very, very behind with testing and they only count people who die in hospital after a positive test. The virus is ripping into care homes in a dreadful way. NHS staff are dying because of a lack of PPE. People are dying because the ventilators the government ordered are not fit for purpose. The financial support promised to small businesses by the government is reaching only 1 in 60. Poverty, which was already bad, is exploding now. Observing the government it seems clear that they have two priorities: Covering up their failure and saving the economy/protecting their assets. Saving the people doesn't really come into it.Β

Yet in spite of all the heartbreak and anger, I am actually hopeful that this may become a turning point for humankind. It seems to be what a lot of people are thinking now; the big question is, how can we push it to make it happen? I was very encouraged by the speech the German president gave at Easter; if you've not seen it, it's on youtube and well worth watching.

oh thanks dear Annette,
so cool to get such a feedback

However... yeah it's such a great pleasure having a hobby to share with your own teenager...
Actually I do remember you daughters work which is mainly digital... you published it some time ago...

I absolutely agree on your pov concerning the COVID pandemic... and I am also sure that it is a great chance for humankind...
We are indeed very happy as artists... we can still follow our great passion...

cheers from little Switzerland

It's mostly the digital stuff she posts here; she does a lot of drawing otherwise. She uses these professional type felt tip markers that cartoon artists use, and sometimes she does watercolour.Β  She also did a lovely collection for Inktober last year.

Not only are we happy as artist (well, I'm just a hobbyist); I feel I am, once again, undeservedly privileged with my comfortable home, happy family, secure income and working from home (which is an odd thing to do as a teacher, but works to some extent thanks to digital platforms). It is somehow strange to think that under the current circumstances, staying safely at home is also an act of solidarity. With my husband in several at-risk categories, I am unwilling to take any chances, so I am trying to make my contribution from home by checking in on others via phone and internet and by getting involved in influencing opinion regarding the direction to take from here on.

It is. The bay is only accessible on foot, so it's fairly quiet.
