Description Well I think the title explains itself...

This is a scene where Phaon leaves Sappho, probably for another....

I never knew a man left her. I thought she was exclusively interested in women.

Xd, she committed suicide because he left her, she jumped off a cliff because she thought she would be cleansed of her love for Phaon or well drown, and she drowned well it was said that jumping off that particular cliff would help cleanse her of her love for Phaon.

And I think that the her being exclusively into women was probably just made up because she had female student's... I don't know...

well, there is no evidence that Phaon even existed (from what I've read anyway, I don't know if you got a better source). some historians think that people started telling this story to make her a heterosexual in the eyes of the public, seeing that some versions have her recant her love of women for him.

considering the fact that she was supposedly married to the ancient Greek version of "Dick of Man" she was probably super bi.

Well, I read it in a book, xd I think books are better sources (just saying). Well there is also no evidence that she was exclusively interested in women, though I agree she may have been bi.

It goes like, Sappho fell in love with Phaon, and slept with her but he began to treat her badly, so she jumped off the cliff to be cured of her love for him, though I don't think she was actually married.

It is also said that the fact that she was married to a wealthy man was invented by comic poets. He was a wealthy merchant called Cercylas, his name litrally means, "Dick, from Men's Island"
