The composition and subtle details are amazing. It must have taken some time to decided on the final depth of field. Stunning!

Thank you! DoF didn't take much time, but I had to play around a lot with displacement settings to get it right!

kaelay [2011-09-27 19:33:11 +0000 UTC]

did you do the depth of field with vue or photoshop?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vishw In reply to kaelay [2011-09-27 19:44:51 +0000 UTC]

Vue!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kaelay In reply to Vishw [2011-09-28 11:39:05 +0000 UTC]

Nice!! im gonna start testing that, it would be nicer to have it done while rendering and not on post. does this increase/reduce render time? sorry that i ask a lot, im kind of new to vue

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vishw In reply to kaelay [2011-09-28 12:34:18 +0000 UTC]

Nah, it's okay.. I love to help out fellow Vue'ers!

Render time depends on many things.. like which version of Vue you're using, how many passes of blur etc.. latest version of Vue has new Fast Hybrid 2.5D option for DoF & it is much faster!

kaelay In reply to Vishw [2011-09-29 20:04:18 +0000 UTC]

well i use vue 9 espirit. and i have no idea of the blur passes, i do need to experiment with simple scenes. in fact i think i need to go to basics so my scenes dont look so bad.

Vishw In reply to kaelay [2011-09-30 10:41:25 +0000 UTC]

You should read the 'Depth of Field' section from Vue manual. It explains all very nicely.
