I've been following things pretty closely since I handle my mom's retirement accounts and there are signs things are starting to pick up. Be patient. It took a while to get into this mess and it'll take a while to get out of it.

I have my info with 3 temp agencies (Labor Ready, Kelly Services and Express Personnel) and there is nothing ... and I have been enrolled with the for months. I will take about anything now ... but there is one job I won't do and that is fast food ... I have 4 years of college and 20+ years in the IT field and now doing housecleaning and such just to pay the bills. I hate it ... I feel like the "market crashed" when I lost my government job of 23 years during a merger, that is when my life started coming untangled.

I know some people in the same situation. A friend of mine got laid off because the company she worked for had a major cash flow problem (partly due to stupidity on the owners' part) and her husband has been having some health problems. Nothing life threatening but a bit scary. He has been working as a temp but things have been slow. She has two Master's degrees in Asian studies and even those are somewhat useless.
I've been doing the Zazzle thing for a while and I've made a few bucks but my main gig is looking after my mom and handling her stuff. Her health has declined recently and she is starting to have some real trouble getting around and seeing things. She's legally blind but she can see just enough to get around. She's been having some motor skills difficulty recently and is less sure on her feet than in the recent past. She's told me she's ready to go and I'm sure she misses my dad and all her siblings (she's the last one standing; no pun intended). She's told me she's sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have to take her to the dentist this week to see if he can do something about her lower denture since it's still bothering her. Unfortunately, it can be one thing after another with her. Throw in her stubbornness and occasional cluelessness and then people wonder why I drink (not always but when necessary and occasionally to excess after I get home from dealing with her). (Please note the sarcastic tone used for that last comment. Thank you, The Management)

Yep one thing after the other I know that feeling ... and I am hoping the rumors of my 19 year old son may be a father aren't true ... it will be yet another grandkid I don't see my 26 year old son has three kids but his wife is punishing me because they are estranged.
