Description Ref. Daredevil. #508. Marvel Comics, New York, New York. 2010.

Ref. De La Torre, Roberto. Original Artist. 2010.

If you haven't been following Daredevil (believe me I am a recent convert, prior to Shadowland, after Hand leadership stuff) but the the guy that draws for them is amazing. I just went on a rant about how awesome he in in my DA journal, he is incredible. This was my attempt to do the same pose, I had originally wanted to improve upon it, but it's so awesome in it's own right. As usual I didn't follow the script. This time around, I make no apologies, I'm taking the same approach I take to playing guitar, make it your own. I've added Jim Lee style cross hatching as he still remains my top influence. But this guy is going to make me take a new look at how I do things. I didn't think much of it when I first saw it now I am amazed. by his artwork.

As for the artwork, I just bought inks for the first time and I got a pretty good scan out of it for once. Thanks to whoever suggested that.

As standard protocol, any helpful tips, comments, llama badges, and cake are welcome. I would like a Wacom Cintiq 21x is anyone is really cool and nice. ..... worth a shot.

Here is my rant: [link]

Thanks for the fav BTW. Someone on here (DA) told me that if you ink you scans, they come out better. It's my very first ink job so no school, just bought them yesterday at Dick Blick Art Store here in Boston. They are called micron pens, if you got to an art store they should carry them there. I bought 3 types, 03-.35mm, 005-.20mm,08-.50mm. and I also bought a flexible ruler. It's like a ruler on it's side and you can bend it to ink curves. I randomly saw it in the store and thought of it for that purpose, somebody may have mentioned that to me too. I think anybody can do it. This was my first try at it and I think it came out alright. It's the first work I've been happy uploading to DA. I should mention the pens go over your pencil lines and when you finish inking, you can erase the excess. Not sure if I'm supposed to do that since I am new to the whole thing myself. Blind leading the blind on this one. Hope this wasn't too long and that it helps.

....positive, in fact I just got back into drawing after being away from it for over 10 years. You should look at the original in Daredevil 508, there are a lot of differences between my attempt and the original. I have along way's to go before I'm bad ass.
