Description Dastilbe crandalli is very common in the Brazil' fossil record. Small, 6cm long individuals, are the most common specimens, but the larger could grow up to 20cm. There is even evidence of cannibalism, as the bigger ones ate the smaller ones.

Model in cold porcelain, 1:1 scale (big individual in life size).

I recently bought a Dastilbe Elongatus. They are very cute fish... but now that I'm looking at it it might not been a Elongatus.

Btw your models are very nice, are you planning to sell any?

I didn't get a notification for your comment (because it was a reply to another user, I bet), so sorry for the late reply. I only saw it now, browsing my posts.

Dastilbe elongatus was synonymized to D. crandalli, which is the genus' only valid species nowadays. I agree that they look cute, and they remind me of wild guppies (we see a lot of them at lakes and rivers margins, with mostly tiny individuals and some bigger ones).

Thank you! These models were already made under orders, so are sold. I take new commissions though, so if you're interested it is just send me a note or an email to opaleoartista@gmail.com

Ah thank you so much, it was so difficult to classify so this clear things up. Also I might comission something from you in the future as your work is incredible!

If the species was alive, for sure. The model itself isn't a good idea
