Description
When the Vought-1600 model was rejected by the Navy, the program merged with General Dynamics' F-16/79 project.Vought's fighter was equipped with the J79-GE-119 engine and renamed the F-19.
The F-19 was exported to all U.S. allies and is still the most widely used fighter aircraft in the world today.
