Oh no, I meant the only thing I did different from yours was I seperated them into West and East Slavic nations, and the South Slavs all were still their own countries. Same for the Latins; Iberia was one, then Catalonia, Southern France, and Italy, and lastly France and Wallonia.

Well their language comes from siculo-arabic which was the Sicilian dialect of arabic, later when the Knights of Malta were there italian was the official language thus the language got more Italian words later the french empire took malta and added few words to there language like bonΔ‘u/bonjour, bonswa/ bonsoir. After the British empire took Malta and effected 20% of their language example (wire/wajer, computerkompjuter etc), at that time italian and english were the official languages of Malta, when world war 2 started Maltese replaced Italian, and that's how Maltese is different from siculo-Arabic, so the answer to your question is because Malta had a different history than Sicily
