Yeah, angels have no gender. But angels who have male names take male vessels (Castiel, Uriel, Gadriel). While angels with female names take female vessels (Naomi, Anna, Rachel). Though, they can take control over opposite sex bodies (like Raphael in a woman's body, or Castiel in Jimmy Novak's daughter body). I suppose this is just depends on vessel will to let angel in, and angels obtain part of their host memories and personal traits. That's why they may be considered "male" or "female". At least that's what I think regarding "gender" problem.
