It is the evening of the day,I sit and watch the children play.
Smiling faces I can see
But not for me,
I sit and watch as tears go by.
My riches cant buy everything,
I want to hear the children sing.
All I hear is the sound
Of rain falling on the ground,

People do strange things on Christmas. Especially in the warmer climates where you don't have to stay cooped up to stay warm. My parents and I used to go for drives in the desert.( We also did that on Easter and almost every Sun..

There used to be a place like this around here called Pacific Ocean Park that had the worlds only all wood roller coaster, ha ha needless to say it's no longer there. Very nice shot, it looks great in black and white.

You're probably too young to remember POP but I went there with my parents as a kid. The only thing I remember is seeing all the sailors lined up outside the tattoo parlor waiting to get tattoos!
You know I didn't even know Santa Monica pier had anything like this, I'll have to go check it out sometime.

Me and my brother would sneek in under the catwalks and come up in the train ride at the end and stay till they closed then get a ride home in Palms by the security gaurd. I loved the diving bell. I was 12.

What fun! In those days you could be 12 and run around after dark without worrying. I think I was around 5 or 6 when I went there. I can only remember a few things about the place although I thought it was magical, in reality I'm sure it was probably very seedy!
