Wow.... at first I thought it was samurai!Derek until I read the title I don't know if you're familiar with the anime/manga "Rurouni Kenshin", but somehow I could imagine him as a wandering brooding rōnin and met Stiles (the son of the small village head he was aimlessly passing through), who was taking a break under the cool shade of a tree near the dirt road after helping out his asthmatic peasant friend Scott with gathering herbs for his mother and their village healer Deaton, by asking the duo for directions to the nearest ryokan for lodging (there's are two owned by the Martins and Whittemores, and Stiles helpfully guided the hot surly rōnin to the former, followed by Scott on the pretext of delivering their gathered herbs to Deaton though really he's just worried about Stiles with Derek's killer aura and all).

Great pic btw! I love the lighting and his expression >w< He looks absolutely livid, like someone had kidnapped Stiles and he on his way swinging over to the other ship by the rope to rescue him and decapitate the poor bastard who dared to lay his hands on him XD (Stiles would be all "My hero!" in a teasing/mocking way and Derek would glare angrily at him, all eyebrows of doom. Of course, Stiles will make it up to him later XD)
