This is wonderful! It has so much personality. I bet your friend loved it. Your talent is incredible. If you hadn't said you're a digital artist, I would've assumed this was really painted.

As far as digital drawings go, you should use layers, and then sketch on one layer, use a new layer to draw things in, another to colour, and so on. This way, once you are done, you can just delete the sketch layer, or save that layer to a new image.
