I use one of two versions of this character, and both versions she is a skilled singer.
She can be either Aerie or human, Aerie being my fictional species of small/tiny fairy-like people, which I'll be posting a species description of shortly.

Vesper is primarily sweet natured and friendly, often wanting to help others in any way she can. She typically does not like to talk about her past, and when questioned, she won't be as openly friendly and will likely grow quiet or attempt to change the subject.

She has encountered predators on occasion, and is often wary of them. Her friendliness will extend to predators as often as possible, but unless she has reason to be relatively certain of safety, she will not cooperate with what can be seen as a potentially dangerous situation. However, once she is sure of her safety, she quickly be her usual friendly self, even at times using the positive aspects of her abilities.

Brief summary of Aeries/Vesper's abilities:

Aeries possess wind magic, which is not particularly strong, but the primary magic with females is voice. Depending on how they use their abilities, their song can be hypnotic or cause a variety of effects on a person.

Some of the uses of their songs and voice can induce a peaceful, overall pleasant feeling; a boost of energy, comfortable temperature (warmth when it's too cold, cool when it's hot out), drowsiness, and many other feelings, many of which are pleasant. While they are capable of using their song to create feelings such as sadness, guilt, and concern, Aeries are far more inclined to use the pleasant aspects. They only typically use the less pleasant feelings if they feel threatened (sadness, guilt, etc) or are in desperate need of help (concern, worry, desire to help).

When they feel in great danger, or see someone they want to help in danger, they can scream, a sound that is highly painful, and depending on how strongly they use it, can cause degrees of physical damage. They are extremely hesitant to use this ability. Vesper is even more so than many.
