Description Just up to no good

I guess I might as well type on some thoughts on the new Pokemon since I've not drawn one of the new ones in a while.

Yamper - Have I done Yamper yet? I dunno. It's cute enough, finally getting the corgi Pokemon everyone wanted. I might at least temporarily use one out of solidarity for my late dog.

Impidimp - ALMOST my favorite out of all of these revealed so far. I've wanted an imp-type Pokemon and I swore one was never going to happen because of Pokemon's reputation among crazy Christian-Catholics as a conduit of introducing children to Satanism, yet here it is! And it's everything I've hope it would be! It's even DARK/FAIRY like I wanted! Hahah! The absolute madlads.

Sirfetch'd - Welp, it's here. Farfetch'd has FINALLY gotten the evolution it so sorely deserves. And it is absolutely ducking hilarious. I'm kinda glad that Beta Gold version of Sirfetch'd never made it to the finished version, cause then we might not have gotten this stupid bishonen knight duck.

Galarian Ponyta - A full-blown My Little Pony-OC-Ass Unicorn was something that was also on my Pokemon wishlist, but I'm sure to everyone's surprise, it's not Fairy type at all. I guess the idea between the mono-Psychic typing is that it's a play on "Friendship is magic" and Psychic is the closest element Pokemon has to magic? Either way, while Ponyta may not do anything overly outrageous, I'm totally getting one once I play Shield.

Gigantamax Pikachu - As hilarious as it is that chubby Pikachu is canon again, I'm kinda eh on it. The method of obtaining it only through having a copy of Let's Go Pikachu is suspect, even if I do fully expect it'll just be re-released through mystery gift at some point.

Gigantamax Eevee - As dumb as it is, I just have a soft spot for dumb fluffy things. It feels like its cuteness gets emphasized more, between the increased neck-ruff and what looks like bigger ears as well.

Gigantamax Meowth - Eh. Funny meme, I guess. Eh, it just feels designed to specifically with the mindset of "oh, the fans will shitpost all about this one, hehehe." And that has me less that enthusiastic about it.

Gigantamax Charizard - Ehhhh. While it's easily the coolest form of Charizard to date, I'm so damn tired of Charizard getting special treatment everywhere. If you're gonna pander to Gen 1, where's Gigantamax Magnemite you goddamn cowards.

Gigantamax Butterfree - A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. It's a shame it only got this after Mega Beedrill's been booted out of the game but either way it's an alright alternate form.

Skippable Cutscenes - Yes this warrants a bullet point. These game's replay value just went through the fucking roof for me. Fuck.

SUPPOSEDLY when counting Galarian forms, Gigantamax forms, and entirely new Pokemon, this game has a roster of new usable forms of Pokemon that surpasses even Gen 5 - It's gonna have to be wait-and-see of course but not gonna lie, this alone has me stoked to get my hands on the game Day 1. I've still got my expectations in check of course, but I've always wanted to have a massive new generation to discover just entirely on my own. So I'm kinda psyched to see just how many new Pokemon there are. GRANTING I'm someone that never got much out of the feature of transferring Pokemon up to the newest versions of the games, if the nationaldex had to die to make massive gens like this more practical, so be it. (...BUT ALSO that said, we could easily have both if they weren't insistent on a new Pokemon game coming out every single year, let alone Gens alone only lasting like, 3 years now.)

Also just in general, it's great to hear that, which it's not QUITE a Pokemon Open World game, that it's still possible to get morbidly curious and wander into areas of the game you're not supposed to be in yet. Just the idea that you can catch glimpses of new Pokemon that you'll just not be able to reliably catch until much later is kinda exciting in and of itself.

I'm so happy about Impidimp too! I've always wanted a Dark/Fairy-type! Perfect blend of cuteness and darkness! An innocent fairy tale gone morbid!

I think the reason why it was never revealed in any of the SwSh trailers was because the Pokemon company wanted to avoid re-igniting the flame which would make the Christian-Catholic society go berserk. I suspect this was the reason as their sole aim was to continue giving the children a chance to experience the fun in the world set in a demographic that is meant to be young and innocent to avoid controversies and go on a journey to become the strongest trainer, which has always been the main goal.

...or at least as of yet!

I heard that Gigantamax Charizard & Gigantamax Butterfree might be tributes to Burning Godzilla & Mothra.

I guess because Charizard is more popular.
