Oh, you have captured this scene perfectly! I am one of those oddballs who likes both James and Severus (for different reasons) and this is fabulous! The fearful (and in James' case, angry) expressions, the poses, the colors--perfect! Thanks for drawing a truly terrifying werewolf. I'm tired of seeing Remus drawn as a big cuddly wolf/dog intead of the dangerous creature he becomes. I see a lot of people expressing hatred for James because he humiliated Severus (that was bad) but strangely not too many angry screeds against Sirius for a prank which could have been fatal.

i really love this one... how all you can see of the wolf is the teeth off to the side. Also i think James' expression is very well done, he looks quite grim and determined.

Hey Bea - what is the background that you used here? Is it called a 'texture' or . . . something else? I want to add a specific background to a work in Photoshop, and don't know what the actual process is called. This work has wood planks in the background- were these brushes, or . . . ? Or a texture . . ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vizen In reply to joeyv7 [2008-05-12 08:58:48 +0000 UTC]

I don't know if it exists, some texture like that... Maybe Sayu or Lilyhbp know... Here I took a picture of a simple wooden wall from Google image. Thanks to PS I changed the perspective, I created an angle etc; and then I added on it some simple light colored brushes.

wow . . . I'll have to try that, I didn't know you could change perspective in a photo. Very clever.

lol, I'm very clever you know (I'm joking)(hum!) ( ) ( ). Yeah, when you select an object in your image, you can transform it in the menu 'Edit' - there are some options : you can change its size, for example; and change the perspective. Very nice...

James that little prat! But he ist doing one of the few good thing he ever did, saving Severus! In this pic he looks so protectiv but also a bit frightened because I guess he don`t want to hurt Remus. The expressions are really great. I adore your style and your Severus! It must be really hard to be rescued by your worst enemy... Poor Sev.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vizen In reply to dreaming-sarana [2008-03-27 11:11:53 +0000 UTC]

Yes, poor Sev... And I always think about that: how it is awful to know that people don't care about you or hate you, so much that they could send you to death. he's only 16 years !

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dreaming-sarana In reply to Vizen [2008-03-27 13:30:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it`s really terrible. They don`t even know him so how can they make such a judgement over Severus? Nobody deserves to die and that black is using his friend to do this is really hard. It seems like they don`t care about Remus at all in this Moment. But he is involved too!
They are acting like some little kids without any sense of right or wrong, not like 16 year olds.

Yes, that it should have been very hard for Severus.

You've confused me. I hate bullies having been through the sort of things Sevy went through and having been the "Snivelly" in my school days, I was that geeky, nerd who could not relate to people, i still can't relate to them much, anyway thats why i love Severus because I relate to him so much. my hero.

Good picture anyway.

Vizen In reply to Chaobaby7 [2008-03-26 15:57:57 +0000 UTC]

I understand what you mean, I've just answered too quickly to your post. I’m sorry.

I do like James and Sirius, simply because they are very credible as some human characters. In life, I won't care about these guys. In the books, in my eyes they are interesting, because we see how they are imperfect and how they could change or couldn't change with the years.

After that, in a way, the conflict between Marauders and Severus is rich for us, the readers. Like Harry, in the OoP, we can love Severus more, because really, Severus is lonely against four popular 'cool' guys. James and Sirius are absolutely wrong here, because they have all for them, when Severus has nothing. It's a very good and deep moment in the books, when Harry understands that his father and Godfather are not gods and were not always 'cool'...

As you know, I love Severus. They are a lot of reasons for that. And of course I was touched by the fact that he was the target of the Marauders. It was not fair and we can’t justify James or Sirius for that. But even if it was his way of defending himself, the fact that Severus used Dark Magic and could support Voldemort is also a bad thing. Severus and the Marauders are in the books, explaining that the world is grey and that the good and the bad sides are matched. If we see that Severus is in the good side, we must see that he was in the bad side too. And on the contrary, that if Sirius and James were in the bad side, somehow they were in the good side also, because they are also right in their opinions – not in their fights with Severus, but acting for the Order. It’s a great demonstration from JK Rowling, and I hope I could explain here my opinions about James and Sirius.

I’m sorry if I was somehow tactless with you. Oh you know, Severus is such a beautiful character…I share your love for him. I wasn’t a β€˜Snivellus’ in my school days. I became more a voluntary lonesome student, because I didn’t feel the need of the others. I had my own world and who’s cool, who’s first, who’s well selling himself – it was not important for me. I am the same person today – I’m alone at home, workless after long studies… What do you think? Why do we all love Severus ??? I think, because he shows us the way : to fight, not against hopeless bullies, but for true goals….

Chaobaby7 In reply to Vizen [2008-03-26 18:20:21 +0000 UTC]

I feel that sometimes Severus and I are soul mates, I too have a fascination for the darker side of things, I can never relate to popular and cool people who be-little others and swagger like the "marauders" did, sure they changed as they grew older but I even think 15 is old enough to know better, I think its because the bullying and humilaition I got at school has affected my confidence all my life and school days were long, long ago, I was called "The big mistake" when I was 11 and it still sticks with me, it still chose in my mind and aged 21 I tried to do away with myself thinking that I was a big mistake.

I know my weakness in life is my inability to forgive and I'm an intolerant git, maybe thats why I'm such a recluse and hide in my books and thoughts and avoid people as much as i can.

I think it was good that Harry realised his father and God father were not perfect that is good, i also like the way the "geeky" kids are heroes in the HP books, Ron, Harry and hermione are all what society would say were a bit geeky and geeky is "cool".

I will admit that I would be tempted to have joined the dark side, after all "muggle" intolerance of magical people throughout history is really something terrible, so I think alot of the magical people would feel alot of "bitterness" towards them, muggles that is.

Well, I have read the books a few times so I do know this. In fact I've read them many times. Anyway, I know the story and what its philosophy is about hence the fact I love it so much. Honestly I'm not on the dark side, I carve for peace and goodness amongst people and the universe and my motto is the Wiccan one of "Harm none". I just feel dark and angsty so often and in despair. that is all. I also have no fear of dark things and think that real darkness is human nature, well about 80% of it, we are not a good species on the whole.

I'm sorry for my long speech. It was not necessary. I'm sure you understand what I wanted to express.

There is good in the earth, the countryside, babies, innocence, beauty etc, marred by one highly idiotic and primitive species the human being.
