I'm actually quite happy with this
I tried a different technique, more 'sketchy'
(literally, I used my sketching airbrush the entire time)
But... the eyes are wonky looking, not sure what's exactly wrong with them
And I was not feeling up to do the picture's background
So the horse is somewhere... dusty.
GIMP, 4? hours, 22 layers

About the eyes, they look good but maybe they could stand to be a little bigger? Might just be the perspective, but I think that might be what makes them a little pinpricky

I agree about the eyes, and also they seem a bit too bright to me. That's just my opinion, of course, but I haven't seen a horse with hazel eyes like that unless it was champagne or a much lighter bay/dun.
I really like the style you drew this in, it looks good sketchy.
