Description
So...it is really simple, the proportions are totally off, there is hardly any colour and it is definately not realistic.I seriously doubt it is many people's cup of tea...
I just like it.

I was editing my wishlist and came across "moon." This is one of the first deviations I faved when I joined back in 2003 (and even though I haven't bought the print yet) I still think it's one of the most beautiful pieces ever. So I thought I'd comment now after all this time

waw... I saw this in another deviant's wishlist and as I saw it I thought oh my God that is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen...then I get here and I saw your description...hmph...well I love it... Love the shape and the lines...so smooth... the colours are beautiful and I cant stop looking at it... must follow all of the curves and lines... cant look away... it is beautiful.. to me at least... I would have expected a lot more favs...I guess this is where those who actually know what we're 'supposed' to look for are separated from those who just like what they like...
(not trying to offend anybody and if i make no sense i'm really tired and really hungry and yeh!)

put this under my neat pics. very neat, love the simple color yet nice design. really gives a new light and personality to the figure. like the eyes and the jewerly on the face. all around makes for a good shot

Facial studies.
The first thing that hit me when watching this piece was how close it was to the 'subject'. I feel a bit violated in terms of personal space. I've looked trough the rest of your personal favorites in your gallery, and I must say that distance is the key. The images Illuminata, Music in my Head and Inverno all have a very nice balance between distance and focus. I feel that this element is lacking here. The black frame around the piece just add to the lack of distance, and makes the viewer feel more pressured. Not to sound all negative here, let's go to the piece in focus.
I think the color-scheme here is great. Too much color can often distract, and besides, the natural goth-girl has even less colors in her face than this. The details on the lips and eyelashes, the gracefull posture and the imaginative makeup all add to the beautifull composition of this piece. I especially like the skin-coloring, and even more so near the colar-bone. Lights and shadows look good, but does not indicate any spesific light-source, which makes the image look a little 'depth-less'..
I really didn't notice the proportions being way of, but then again my favorite comic is Elfquest!

I myself find alot of beauty in it...
she seems sooo sombre and silent...her facial expression to me bares alot of contemplation...likes something is weighing heavily on her mind...

Not sure why you would think we wouldn't like it, The style is not quite the Tara style we are now so accustomed to, yet it is still a really nice depiction of said moon, the pale colours and semi-abstract features are nicely planned out. Another great piece of work, well done.

i know its computer but i think its special when its has that traditional feel.
i like how this is a lot more crisp compared to some of your other stuff and i like the texture.

I really like it because of it's lack of realism. I love the blues in her eyelids, and the intense red of the lips. The little white tatoo like dots are a very nice touch. So smooth looking as well. very very nice work

i was one someones page and only the eyes had loaded (dial-up) but as soon i saw those eyes...just those eyes you had me hooked and as i saw the rest of this piece i was soooo happy i saw those eyes! this is a great piece. i had seen your work before and i really liked this, but the fact that u pulled me in with just seeing the eyes makes you rawk...and this is probably the longest comment ive ever written...you must be very special!

the skin tones look great- pale without being grey and dead looking. i black white and red together, so naturally i love this. the face is nicely stylized too and the face markings give a nice tribal touch. :3

I love how elegant and stylized this is. You did a great job with the texture of the skin, too. It makes me think of.. mm... I can't think of the name. But my fingertips can remember what it feels like. The red/black/white contrast looks so good, and that little touch of blue is so perfect.
