the effect on the background is nice.
maybe his arms are a little too ghosty? but i guess that's just a preference issue. i can tell you worked on the edges a lot, but they could still be softened up a little more, they still have a bit too much of a "cutout" look.

You're right. I wanted originally to make it a "night" scene, as the original was taken on a sunny porch. So I masked him off and inverted the background and then unmasked him but yeah... there was that annoying line. I'll keep improving! Thanks for the comment!
