Nope, it's made out of plastics and rubber. It's just easier to call it clay, as 'clay' is the closest thing the majority of the population can relate it to.

Yes you are right.Polymer not a clay and clay called "clay" because it's texture and working properties resemble those of mineral clay.There is a good article about polymer clay on the Wikipedia,I always read articles from this site when I need some information :3
