Betula pendula, the silver birch Munchkit. The cat part is based on a lynx-point Siamese. Here's what Heyriel has to say about Tree Munchkits:

"Munchkits born from tree seeds grow slowly but may become as big as medium-size dogs and live very long lives. They can weave powerful protective charms and, in a fully-grown state, carry bonzai-like trees on their backs, sometimes joined by grass, moss or ferns. They may have wooden antlers or horns.

Kits may wear accessories offered by humans to invoke a good harvest, such as bells, laces and decorative items for their plants."

Adorable, right? Here's the species guide: Munchkits [Species Reference] . My silver birch has been offered red thread, traditionally tied to trees here in Britain to discourage witches and bad faeries. Admittedly it's usually a rowan tree, but the silver birch is my favourite tree of all.

I enjoyed making this guy so much, you have no idea, and I'm so happy with how he turned out. Prisma coloured pencils on textured slate grey cardstock, touches of indian ink and white gel pen. About 2 hours.
