Space, regardless of which corner of the galaxy you were in it all appeared the same. Whether it was the view above the core worlds of Ophelia and Elosia or the border moons of Necropolis all one would see was the deepest black with insignificant specks of light scattered throughout. Many men often lost their minds when they sailed through the black for too long, experiencing cabin fever and going mad from isolation.
The Galactic Imperium had made many attempts over the years to cure this particular ailment preferring not to lose gifted officers on those long voyages. Ships were then designed with a day night cycle in order to keep track of time and keep a sense of normalcy. Gyms, firing ranges, rec rooms and small libraries were supplied to help stave off the madness that accompanied deep space travel.
It made no difference to him however; he had always loved space, ever since he could remember. His earliest memories always took place on the bridge of his father this is the story
