I love this piece so much! I love the abstract kinda shapes youβve put around the place and how they react when touching the body! The hair looks flowy and beautiful, itβs very shiny and looks very realistic as the person in the piece of art does! Another thing, the hand looks very welly proportioned and I think you did an amazing job on it! The lips are shiny and I love their colour, same with the nose and blush on the face.Β
There is also something I think you may have forgotten (Or you may not have forgotten and you may have actually done this on purpose) The left eye has eyelashes whilst the right eye does not, that makes it look a little bit off, but it does not take away from the sheer amazing-ness of this piece of art, so you do not actually need to worry about that small and almost overlooked problem.Β
So yeah, in conclusion I like this art a lot, youβve got real artistic talent, I like how realistic you can make your art. I checked out your gallery and everything seems fairly realistic (With some lines on the outside). So you donβt have much to improve on since you are already really good in the first place. So yep, good job mate and keep up the good work!

Oh wow! I totally forgot the left eyelashes. Thanks for pointing that out! The feedback is much appreciated.

I really like this piece, it definitely draws attention and gives some j-pop vibes because of the funky colors. I don't know which photo you've taken as reference, but everything seems quite good in terms of anatomy. Maybe just the nose could get some improvement as I think we should be able to see her other nostril since she's in more 3/4 view instead of profile. I also don't quite know why one of her eyes has "mascara" and "eyeliner" put on, and other doesnt but then, the one that doesn't, looks more pleasant and appealing to me, more realistic even. Her ear - which i noticed only now - looks awkward in that place. I think it should be lowered and put more to the left, but as I stated I don't know what picture you used, and if you really used any. Other than that I think her lips need more work in terms of rendering, and they would look much more realistic.
In terms of the geometric shapes, I am a fan of those, they bring something new to the piece, but I've got a feeling it's a bit too much, maybe it's just my minimalistic side, but I think that pink and green circle would be more than enough. It would take away the feeling of "randomness" and perhaps put more meaning into it.
I will also nitpick one thing - the background isn't completely white, it has grey spots, and non cleaned edges which of course takes away that neat look.
After all, it's a nice piece, - so, well done!

Although not much of an artist myself anymore, I can see the amount of time and technique used in this wonderful piece! I love the idea of playing with the polkadots (are they meant to be like lens-flares or something?), and they truly do add pops of color to the piece. I think the white background is good contrast to the pops of colors, but might I suggest trying a purely black background as an alternate idea, not merely to replace? I think sometimes that can make the colors pop out even more (at least to my eye). I myself am not familiar with Shizuku, so I cannot refer to how accurate the picture is, but I think because of that it really does stand out on its own. What's even more, the technique is so well done, on some parts I cannot tell whether or not this was done with physical materials or through a digital platform. Very well done!

Thanks! The polka dots are actually a reference to the band the person is part of since they're called "Polkadot Stingray". As for the alternative idea, I actually tried using a dark gray background but it didn't turn out as well cause the lighting on her didn't really match, but black isn't something I've tried. I'll try it out. I also had alternative color schemes and circles. The one here is just the one I thought was best looking.

Excellent likeness.Β The circles of color give it that pop music punch, and have a stage lights feel.Β This could sell as an album cover!Β Very nice.

J-pop. The electro-swing of Japan.
Probably not.

Haha, I actually listen to a bit of electro-swing. If anything, the artist in the picture is actually more of J-Rock than J-Pop, but, like all music, genres can be sorta merged and vague. I listen to all kinds of music, so it's a matter of me liking it or not as opposed to genre.

Well now I want to see what you draw for electro-swing and alt-rock.
:v I'm thinking alt-rock is gonna have some light blue pigment.

VNotebookPaper In reply to Exempdent [2018-08-05 02:22:09 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm... You might be on to something. Maybe I should do a fanart for Caravan Palace or Parov Stelar. Alt-rock is such an umbrella term that I bet the alt-rock artists I know wouldn't line up at all with artists you know. It's just that big of a genre.

That's the beautiful thing about music; there's something for everyone.
Well, except for the people who don't listen to music. No idea why they wouldn't, but to each their own.

Yep. If you have any favorite bands, I'm not afraid of suggestions. I could always use some more music to listen to.

Literately hundreds, most of which would probably be a little bit too edgy for you.
But I think a nice rock band that's worth listening to is Written By Wolves.
They have a couple songs; one of which is called Not Afraid To Die.
I'd listen to that first to get a feel for what the band's about.
Let me know if they're to your liking or not.
Hopefully, they are.

And since you like elctro-swing, might I suggest a spooky electro-swing song?
Swingrowers - Midnight
This genre was really difficult for me to find, but damn was it worth it.

VNotebookPaper In reply to Exempdent [2018-08-05 02:44:14 +0000 UTC]
YES. Swingrowers! I love "That's Right" and "Midnight". That's a good one.

Then you'd probably like Odd Chap - Midnight.
It doesn't have any lyrics, more of an instrumental song, but it's got that kind of beat that just makes me wish I knew how to dance.

VNotebookPaper In reply to Exempdent [2018-08-05 02:54:09 +0000 UTC]
They're more of a hip hop artist than Electro-swing, but they are definitely good at vintage music inspired beats.

Exempdent In reply to VNotebookPaper [2018-08-05 02:59:40 +0000 UTC]
They have some pretty nice beats.
If you're interested in trying something pretty out there in terms of music, I'd suggest looking into Celldweller and BlueStahli.
I'm not even sure what kind of genre you'd consider them, I've just never heard anything quite like them.
For Celldweller, I'd suggest listening to (Just like You) First, and then (Wings Of Icarus)

I really like Blue Stahli (Just listened to "Not Over Til We Say So"), and Celldweller has music that reminds me of some epic movie score.

Hope you find some more music you'll enjoy!

Okay, I said I'd leave you with those two, but there's just one more I think absolutely deserves a mention.
If you're interested in cinematic music: Les Friction - Louder Than Words.
And that's it, I swear.
