The evening sun lit up a nice view of the Houses of the port city, doubbled in the mirror of the harbour.

In fact , there are houses on both sides of the harbour, and boats have to go to the sea by a fairway

I guess you took the chokolate side of Honfleur.
Was there a connection to Hanse cities, like Amsterdam?

I don't think there was such a connection.
Honfleur was a big harbour until the french revolution.

The front of the Honfleur houses look a little bid like Hanse houses, [link]
Perhaps this house scenery is typical for harbour, small and near water to get over goods from ship?

Yes, Honfleur with his houses very close to each other and with colours looks a little bit like Hanse houses.
I've already seen more or less such houses in Bergen (Norway).
But Honfleur is very small !!!

May I apologise. After some historic researches I found Honfleur as an important harbour of the Fpanish-French Ligue, 1419 King Johann II.
Interesting is to see that harbour cities have similar architecture. In the past for me was harbour identical with the political connection of Hanse. Its really more.
