It's japanese for "Gal". It's a fashion in japan in which girls dress up in colorful jewelry and make up, complete with a tan and blonde hair. Gyaru and it's male counterpart Gyaruo are often considered very loose and ignorant people, and their bleach hair is often considered a sign of rebellion.
