Oh, the Irony
These were the very words her brother spoke to her before he tried to kill her and she found herself speaking them to him as he got the shit beat out of him.
She watched him continuously stumble to his feet, each time he was knocked down. Every time he got up he would turn to h e r as if he wanted her to step in. She wasn't, she was not going to continue hurting herself for the sake of others.
When he began to yell at her she began to raise her hands.
'Sometimes you have to ignore it. You have to let it happen because the person in question isn't quite there right now. He can't be helped with a simple talk and a hug. So let it happen. It can't be helped. This isn't my fault... THIS ISN'T MY FAULT-'

She couldn't listen to her brother scream anymore, she didn't want to. So she slowly brought her hands up to her ears, the last thing she clearly heard before covering her ears was her brother calling out to her but she couldn't fucking do this anymore. She closed her eyes, and listened to her own breathing....she just needed to drown out the remaining noise until it was over.
