It's a mixture of self insert and this game

Void is an octopus made of Dream Matter who'd die if the Star Rod was taken away again, due to them being made of literal dreams. A mage specializing in water and nature elemental magic, this headstrong beach dweller loves sweets and going for a swim.

Might add more later. But I sketched this out real quick and had a lot of fun. I also might keep this version of Void.
