I dunno why I entered cuz' I don't think my mom would let me go even if I did win 3rd place.
I'm hoping for 3rd place, HOPING as in I highly doubt I'll even win that XD
I suck at winning contests I've never won a contest before XD
I made my entry like 2 weeks before they started accepting entries 8D 「I was thinking I'd attempt to enter another entry, but then by the day they start accpeting entries they state they're only accepting 1 entry per person this year XD;;;;
I uploaded this today cuz' it said you weren't allowed to post it anywhere online until after February 28th XD

Oh yeah and this thing almost gave my computer a heart attack.
Normally I'm limit my canvus size to like 1000, sometimes 2000, but 2000 is pushing it, and this needed like 2000x3500 D: My computer started to not like it very much ahahah XD

I wish you the stupidest of stupid luck stupid can get, stupid luck xD lol. Seriously tho, this is very good. You've gotten a lot better w/ coloring digitally (wish I could say the same) and I like the little hint @ textures and details in her.
Btw, is this SakuraCon thing for Naruto's Sakura? B/c that's who I first thought of when I saw it. Ah and about the canvas size thing, definitely make sure u either beef the RAM up or don't use GIMP. From personal experience 2000+ & comp probs & GIMP, that's basically asking for trouble.

So there's a flower called Sakura? Neat! I'm gonna try looking up pictures for it sometime. Around my way there's a neighbor around who has this really nice bush w/ red roses on it, and one day this red and black bird came by. I wished it stayed 
Hopefully I'll have a new comp by next month or early May, but I'll have to use GIMP up there b/c I don't have PS money. Actually, if you got about $100 u could order a comp offline 'cuz I found a site where I'm ordering one from. Good specs too, but it's just the tower only (I think). Gimp will forever be a resource hog.

Yeah PS is seriously way over priced imo, I honestly wonder how many people actually truely buy it vs. torrenting it XD
Never been a fan of it myself, I think mainly cuz' they way you copy and paste images annoys me, and I couldn't figure out how to move around selections, so PS always annoyed me seemed to make things I wanted to do take 1-2 more clicks XD
I'm sure it'd be just as much of a resource hog as gimp XD Only paint program that i've used that wasn't that big of a memory hog was Paint Shop Pro 7, but its not the best for coloring sadly, the brushes don't work as smoothly as the ones in Sai do XD

Ur right tho; I was actually trying to put two seperate images into one image file on a large canvas in Essentials. It's no problem @ all in GIMP, but I couldn't figure it out in Essentials. Also, when resizing canvases in Essentials it's kinda annoying compared to GIMP. So in the end, I'll probably stick w/ GIMP even if it does hog memory b/c it's actually easier for me to work w/.
Haven't used Sai before but I hear it's awesome, and I've seen good stuff around here done in it. If u've ever used Corel Painter 10 that's also extremely good, but I don't know how much it's non-art abilities extend to.
Ahahah nawwwh XD 「well possibly a good thing since you'll avoid the possibility of a computer virus. Luckily I've never had any that caused them, or didn't obviously cause them. I've had 1 torrent make my virus scanner freak once, only time. Thank goodness for virus scanners! ahahah XD」

Only thing I wish it had was ability to import brushes Wellll techinically you can, but not as cool ones as you could in other programs XD, and an ability to add text XD 「if it had those it'd be pretty close to perfect for me XD It is already but with those it'd be more-so for me ahahah XD」
Corel Painter...I think I've possible used that /goes to check/ Well hmm sort of I have 'Corel Painter Essentials 4' XD I couldn't figure out how to really use it cuz' it ate up my memory like crazy! And it installed in japanese.... ahahah XD;

I did some looking at the Wacom site, and noticed that some of their tablets come w/ painting software. I NEVER KNEW THAT!!! Bamboo tablets seem to be cheap, so once I scrape up the cash I'm definitely getting one.
Ur notions on PS are good one; for those that use it it just comes naturally. I've heard people say GIMP is impossible but since I've used it for so long I find it easier than PS or Corel, but that's a biased POV :S
No it's not a scam, but it just takes SO LONG for them to process the money; the earliest will be May 12 so...a few more days x3

But yeshh bamboos are pretty cheap! and work well! 「well I have the older style of the bamboo fun, I dunno what the newer ones are like, I assume about the same as far as drawing capabilities go XD」
I dunno whats so special about the more expensive ones, maybe I'd know what I'm missing out on if I bought one? XD
I'd be one of those that says that about gimp, well old gimp, new gimp looks like its a lot more managable but I never spent enough time with it～ XD

The pricier ones have a larger working screen, and maybe other fancy stuff. I think they also come pre-bundled w/ different art software :S.
There's like a bunch of interfaces for GIMP now. One of them makes it much more like Photoshop and another one is exclusively for drawing. They look tempting but for now I'm just gonna stick to color doodling in that and just using it for touch-ups and clean-ups (clone tool ftw!)
Lol, yep it's been here for about a month (or more like three weeks), runs pretty well. Not a powerhouse but doable. Need a new mouse and keyboard tho they have some annoying issues.

For me a bigger one of the same uh 'family' 「like a bamboo fun 4x6 vs. bamboo fun 8x6」 probably wouldn't be any better unless you honestly need that much pen room 「I don't seem to, which is good XD」
Extra software could definitely be a plus though～
